First Grade Bibliographic Format

 

For a book:

  1. Name of the author.
  2. Title of the book, underlined.
    Joanna Cole.  The Magic Schoolbus, Lost in the Solar System.

 

For an article from a print encyclopedia:

  1. Name of the article you looked up.
  2. Name of the encyclopedia, underlined.
    Butterfly. The World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia.

 

For an article from a magazine:

  1. Name of the author.
  2. Title of the article.
  3. Name of the magazine, underlined, with the date.
    Melissa Stewart.  Who Needs a Nose?  Click October 2005.
       
       

For an article from an encyclopedia found online:

  1. Name of the article you looked up.
  2. Name of the encyclopedia, underlined.
  3. Address of the web site in parentheses
    Dinosaur.  World Book Online. (www.worldbookonline.com).
       
    Turtle.  The New Book of Knowledge. (nbk.grolier.com).
       
       

For an article found online:

  1. Name of the article you looked up.
  2. Name of the web site, underlined.
  3. Address of the web site in parentheses.
    Butterfly Habitats.  Butterflies at the Field Museum. (www.fieldmuseum.org).
