Second Grade Bibliographical Format

For a book:

  1. Name of the author, last name first.
  2. Title of the book, underlined .
  3. Date book was published.
    Murray, Peter.  Insects. 2004.

 

For an article from a print encyclopedia:

  1. Subject of the article you looked up.
  2. Title of the encyclopedia, underlined .
  3. Year the encyclopedia was published.
    Flower. The World Book Student Discovery Encyclopedia. 2002

 

For an article from a magazine:

  1. Name of the author.
  2. Title of the article.
  3. Name of the magazine, underlined, with the date.
    Simon, Charnan. Rocks Rock. Click May 2005. 
       
       

For an article from an encyclopedia found online:

  1. Name of the article you looked up.
  2. Title of the encyclopedia, underlined .
  3. Address of the web site (in parentheses).
    Insects.  The New Book of Knowledge. (nbk.grolier.com)
       
       
    Tornado.  World Book Online. (www.worldbookonline.com).
       
       

For an article found online:

  1. Name of the article you looked up.
  2. Name of the web site, underlined .
  3. Address of the web site (in parentheses).
    Black Widow Spider.  Yahooligans! Animals. (yahooligans.yahoo.com)
