WORLD BOOK ENCYCLOPEDIA For use in school as well as at home, this is the online version of the World Book Encyclopedia. World Book Kids is suitable for younger elementary school students, while World Book Student is for older students. The online version includes all the information available in the print edition as well as links to many related magazine articles and Web sites.
BRITANNICA ONLINE For use at school and home, this site includes access to Enyclopædia Britannica, Compton's Encyclopedia and Britannica Elementary. An excellent resource for students from elementary school through high school, the site also features links to journals and magazines and web sites.
CHILDREN'S MAGAZINE GUIDE The online version of the standard index to children's magazines, this site also provides links to appropriate web sites.
EBSCO MAGAZINE SEARCH A very useful index to periodical articles, this site includes many full-text articles. Once you get to the site, click on Searchasaurus (for younger students) or go to Ebscohost Web and then to Primary Search and/or Middle Search (for older students).
MERRIAM WEBSTER'S ONLINE DICTIONARY The 10th edition of this excellent dictionary, including illustrations and tables, and linked to a thesaurus.
RHYMING DICTIONARY A good place to visit when you want to compose a rhyming verse or two. Be sure to choose "double rhymes" for two or three syllable words or you might not get good rhymes!
FAMOUS QUOTATIONS A collection of famous historical quotations.
HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS Everything from the Mayflower Compact to Martin Luther King's "I have a dream" speech and presidential inaugural addresses. A fine source for primary materials for social studies.
BERGEN COUNTY COOPERATIVE LIBRARY SYSTEM On the BCCLS home page you will find a list of all of the public libraries in Bergen county and some in Passaic, along with their hours of operation. Best of all, you can search the catalogs of all those libraries, including the Oradell Public Library's, by author, title, subject or key word, find out which library has a book you need, whether it is available, and even reserve it.

A wonderful professional resource, the Educational Resource Information Center provides access to literature and resouces in the field of education. the database provides access to articles from many journals with full text of more than 2,200 digests.
